With the 2011 holiday season fast approaching, the Future Nurses have volunteered to do a stuffed toy collection for children. The stuffed toys will be split/donated to Aurora Hospital in Two Rivers and will be given to children during the year who come into the emergency room and/or require a hospital stay. They will also be given to the Manitowoc Police Department and Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Department to give to children who they see in difficult situations. Both entities have requested that any toys donated meet the following criteria:
1. They are new (this is for sanitary purposes – no “germs”)
2.The toys do not have button eyes and noses (can be swallowed by small children)
3.The toys are not seasonal (not Santa bears, etc.) since they will be used throughout the year.
The toys will be collected starting on Monday, October 18
and will be collected through Monday, November 21
. There is a collection bin outside of Student Services where you can put the toys you wish to donate. This is a great and inexpensive way for you to make a meaningful donation to children. Hope you are able to help us out!
